Another thought, I had on the drive in to Vancouver yesterday: I think I have weak stamina as a result of the movie-age in which I indulge. Whenever someone in a movie is doing something big, like practicing for a big competition or learning a new sport/musical instrument/job skill or building something big, like a house for instance, it is always completed in about three minutes, they say nothing, but smile every now and then and blow the hair that has fallen in their eyes off their face and keep working- all the while jazzy music is playing, like Chumbawumba. I forget that this minute-long montage is supposed to represent months and months of hard work. That’s the whole point of it, but its so obvious that the point is lost on me. I want to play the drums in three minutes, not three years
